Introduction to non toxic Printmaking
What the workshop will involve
During this one day course you will learn the basic principles of Intaglio Printmaking using nontoxic etching techniques.
We will use an acrylic hard ground to produce small (10 x10cm) aluminium plates which will then be etched in a Copper Sulphate solution (mordant).
You will learn how to apply ink and prepare the plate for printing. We will then print our images on to good quality printing paper, using a press.
You do not require any previous printing or artistic experience. I have designed the workshop with beginners in mind. The emphasis is on fun and experimenting with mark making. You will 99not be required to bring any complex designs or imagery to work from.
There are 3 places still available on Sunday the 14th of April.
It is a full day workshop 9:30am -4:00pm.
All materials are included and you will be able to take away your prints and aluminium plates at the end.
The cost is £95
Tea and coffee will be provided.
You will need to bring a packed lunch and an apron/overall/old clothes.
